About Harvey & Quinn
I am a British designer/maker who takes inspiration from unusual and beautiful buttons to create a unique collection of work, which is both nostalgic and classic.
I am passionate about transforming treasured finds into beautiful pieces of jewellery.  For me each button tells a story, an intriguing glimpse of a forgotten past.
My work always begins with one small piece of inspiration, a button and from that I create a sterling silver setting which often reflects my love of Elizabethan and Greco – Roman style and traditional decorative forms.
I provide both a bespoke range of exquisite one off pieces as well as a limited addition range of work. I enjoy working to commission, so if you have something in mind, to make I am always happy to discuss creating a special piece of jewellery, just for you.
I studied for a BA (Hons) degree in Three Dimensional Design in Metals at Surrey Institute in Farnham, Surrey from 1991 to 95 and spent an intermediate year at the Fachhochschule, Dusseldorf, Germany between 1993 to 94.  I live and work in Saffron Walden, Essex.
 How the story began…
Harvey & Quinn first evolved having rescued my Grandmother’s box of vintage buttons from going to a charity shop. I spent a morning looking through this box, and was totally absorbed in what I saw as a box of treasure! I  found buttons from so many different eras, Edwardian, Victorian and Art Deco’s from the 1930’s. That is where the seed of an idea began to grow.
